Join Eagle Spirits in honouring Orange Shirts Day and Canada’s National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

The Eagle Spirits of the Great Waters hosted our 3rd  Gathering and Healing weekend honouring  Orange Shirt Day and Canada’s National Day of Reconciliation, marking a significant occasion for indigenous and non-indigenous communities. Held at the SAIB grounds, amidst nature’s embrace, the event resonated with heartfelt ceremonies, where elders shared stories of resilience and wisdom, emphasizing the importance of healing and unity. The community enjoyed the many participants, adorned in vibrant regalia, engaged in traditional dances and songs that echoed across Mississauga, embodying a spirit of cultural pride and remembrance. Through reflective discussions and art displays, attendees honored the resilience of residential school survivors and paid homage to those who lost their lives. This gathering served as a poignant reminder of the ongoing journey towards reconciliation, fostering hope for a future built on mutual respect and understanding among all peoples.
