At Eagle Spirits of the Great Waters Indigenous Arts and Cultures we believe in the power of collective action to strengthen the community. We welcome non-profit partners, volunteer groups, and individuals who share our vision for impactful local programming.
Partnering with Eagle Spirits of the Great Waters brings a deep connection to the local community, a wealth of Indigenous cultural knowledge, and experience with successful initiatives and partnerships that unite Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples. By working together, we can create projects that are culturally meaningful, community enriching, and environmentally responsible.
To understand what we do, view our About page and Events and Workshops. Then review our partnership criteria below to see if your project aligns with our mission.
To use our resources effectively and stay true to our mandate, collaborative projects must meet the following requirements:
- Organizational Status: You must be a registered non-profit organization, a volunteer grassroots group, a public institution or educator, or an individual Indigenous artist or knowledge keeper.
- Non-Profit Intent: The specific project or event must be not-for-profit.
- Community Accessibility and Inclusiveness: The project must take place in Mississauga and be open to the public of all backgrounds. We encourage projects that are suitable for youth and families.
- Strategic Alignment: Our goals are to sustain, celebrate, and share Indigenous arts and cultures in ways that heal, educate, and bring communities together. The project must fit at least one of our priority areas:
- Indigenous Arts & Cultures: Revitalizing, teaching, celebrating, and honouring traditional and contemporary expressions and knowledge. (examples: Indigenous art exhibits, cultural workshops, cultural gatherings and presentations, storytelling).
- Social Impact and Healing: Emotional and spiritual healing through connection, ceremony, and teachings. (examples: Healing ceremonies, naming ceremonies, traditional knowledge sharing).
- Land-Based Learning and Preservation: Our relationship to the land and water, and our presence on the land. (examples: Indigenous agricultural practices, ancestral medicines and foods, trips to Indigenous sites, seasonal ceremonies).
Priority areas often overlap.
If you meet the above criteria, we invite you to submit a brief proposal that includes the following:
- Project Description: A summary of your event or activity, including goals, target date, and location.
- Partner Contribution: What specific resources, staffing, expertise, or funding do you bring to the project?
- Requested Support: What do you need from us? (e.g., cultural consultation, venue sharing, co-promotion, Indigenous artist connections).
We prioritize partnerships that demonstrate a long-term commitment to reconciliation.
Email your project proposal with the above information to: info@eaglespirits.ca
Please allow our Board of Directors 4 to 6 weeks to consider your proposal. We will respond with any questions or requests for information, then let you know how we’d like to proceed.
